Fourth Grade Art
The students LOVED working on this project. We followed some basic one-point perspective guidelines to create a bridge landscape. The students were very interested in learning how to draw in a realistic manner. We learned how to draw, making it look like the painting has depth.
Fourth grade is working on their second self portrait of the year! They each took a "selfie" with their own iPads that they referenced through the whole process. We talked about details such as the shapes of our facial features and the importance of drawing an accurate representation of hair and a hairline. They really turned out great!
Fourth Grade learned about Wayne Thiebaud who typically paints delicious looking desserts! Students were instructed on how to draw a single layer cake with a piece cut out or a three-tiered cake. They drew large scale and colored in their cakes with chalk pastel. We focused on mixing colors and values. Students were encouraged to create patterns and decorations on their cakes as well!
